Amberly is a large neighborhood, with over 1100 acres of planned development consisting of a potential 5155 homes (residential units). There is also a town center of approximately 75 acres for commercial and office space. Additional acreage was added to build the North West Cary UNC Wellness Center. There are now about 2500 completed and occupied homes in the community. The Wellness Center is the only non residential building in community other than the Residents Club.
Amberly is located in west Cary and is conveniently located close to many amenities in the area. RDU Airport is only a 12 minute drive with about the same time to Research Triangle Park. Downtown Raleigh is 25 minutes, Chapel Hill 20 minutes and downtown Durham 20 minutes. The three universities, UNC, NC State and Duke are all within 20 minutes. Convenience to shopping is important and Amberly has that too. The closest shopping is a mile and half from the community’s Residents Center. All the basics are there including a Harris Teeter complete with a StarBucks! Just a couple of miles down O’Kelly Church Rd., Parkside Town Commons just opened. There you’ll fina a new Target, Harris Teeter, Jersey Mikes and a movie theater . Alston Town Commons is also nearby with Whole Foods as the anchor store.
The amenities in Amberly include a 16 acre lake for fishing, canoeing or kayaking. The Residents Club boasts both a lap pool and fun pool that includes two water slide; pools, a fitness center, gym, and rooms available to rent for parties etc. The community also features lots of walking, bike trails as well as streets are lined by sidewalks.
The Neighborhoods of Amberly
Arlington Park at Amberly: Arlington Park was one of the first phases of homes built in the neighborhood in the mid 2000’s. Arlington Park has single family detached homes ranging in size from 2100 sq. ft to 3000 sq.ft. built by KB Homes on lot sizes of approximately 1/4 acre. Prices are in the upper 200’s to lower 300’s.
Blackstone at Amberly : This neighborhood was built in 2006-2008 by Ryan Homes and is section of larger homes on larger lots. Home prices are in the upper 300’s to upper 400’s. The homes are 3000 sq ft to 4000 sq ft on 1/3 acre lots. Many homes have brick fronts.
Village Square at Amberly: This is a new section of 100% Energy Star Townhomes being built by M/I Homes. Homes range from 2086 -2709 sq. ft. with a price range of $310K to $375K.

Carolina Preserve at Amberly: Carolina Preserve is a retirement community by Del Webb, a company specializing in retirement homes since 1960. Carolina Preserve has 100’s of homes and
a huge residents center for residents in the 55+ crowd.
